A family history book set drawing on the writings of four generations of the Dobell family. The published project totalled 125,000 words. As envisaged by the family, the high quality book would have been a huge volume. The final solution gave special emphasis to family photographs to drive the design and heighten the impact of the text.

Breaking the book into eight volumes with each volume covering one branch of the family. The eight volumes were presented as a boxed set. The book is more manageable (“friendly” in the words of one family editor) while elegantly meeting the aim of collecting a century of life into one boxed publication.
